Congregation of the Sisters of Little Flower of Bethany
Sr Marie Vera (Elizabeth D’Souza) (78) of the Congregation of the Sisters of Little Flower of Bethany passed away on Saturday, August 23, in Bangalore, after a dedicated service. The 78-year-old Sister was a member of the Bethany Convent, Jayamahal, Bangalore and was confined to bed for a year.
She joined the Congregation of the Sisters of Little Flower of Bethany in 1966 at the age of 30. As a Bethany Sister, she has served in various communities of the Congregation in India and abroad, including Germany and Italy, during the last 45 years.
The eldest daughter among the eight children of late Joseph and Josephine D’Souza of Pangla in Udupi, she did her Senior Grade Basic Training at Rosa Mystica Training Institute, Kinnikambla, in Dakshina Kannada district, and had taught in the St Lawrence Middle School, Moodubelle, Udupidistrict,for 11 years.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, August 24, at the St John the Evangelist Church, Munireddypallya, Bangalore, at 11 am.
