Funeral cortege leaves residence Near Kadri Tollgate for St. Sebastian Church, Bendoor, on Wednesday January 8 at 4.00 pm. followed by public homage at 4.30 p.m. Mass at 5.00 pm.

I am grateful to God for having given him a long fulfilled life with his scientific, cultural and social contribution to the society of Mangalore. Throughout my studies as well as my work in the German Universities, his notes which I carried with me from Mangalore were not only my constant companion but also very much admired by the German University Staff. I am just shocked to hear about the sudden demise of Prof. Alban Castelino. He was not only my physics professor at St. Aloysius in I PUC and II PUC, but also my neighbour in Kadri.

With Alban Mestri's passing, the Mangalorean Catholic community, more particularly, we Bendoreans have lost yet another great person. He was simplicity personified. Always helpful towards others. Well respected and loved by his colleagues at St.Aloysius College, among his students and generally by all those who came in contact with him. He was energetic and used to walk from Kadri Toll Gate to the College but of late one could observe advancing age taking its
toll.
We condole the bereaved family and pray Almighty to grant him eternal rest.
