Sr Gonzaga Pinto, 84 years, Sisters Of Charity, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Infant Mary's Convent, Jeppu.

Born on Jan 23, 1929, she joined the Sisters of Charity of Saints Bartholomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa on October 2, 1955 at Belvedere, Nagori after completing her Nursing studies. She rendered her services as a Nurse in Government hospital, Hassan. Rendered services in Fr Muller Charitable Institutions in different capacities like Matron of the hospital, tutor in the School of Nursing and Principal of school of Nursing from 1971-1992.

Public viewing at Jeppu church on Monday, August 26 from 3:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 3:30 pm.

I had the oppourtunity of meeting you several times, but I will always remember and cherish the memories of the day when I travelled all alone on the bus to Hassan when I was only 12 years old and spent 10 days with you. You were a loving aunt. You dedicated your entire life for the service God. You were a inspiration to me. You will remain in our hearts forever.

Sr. Gonzaga is no more. Her complete life was dedicated in the service of GOD. She was available for consultation and remedy for problems. Her smiling face always remembered. It is a great loss to the community. We share our grief and pray for her soul. May her soul rest in peace.

Condolences to Sisters of Charity & family members.As young doctors in the '70s we learnt what service was from Sr.Gonzaga.In an era when disposables were not available,her supervision of ward cleanliness as a matron was so good that infection in the post-operative ward was unheard of.She was one among the few great nursing instructors who kept the Fr.Muller flag flying high all over the world.

Our deepest condolences to the family. We met Sr. Gonzaga at her sister Lucy's house in Mangalore in 1993 and enjoyed talking with her. We remember her riding together with us in the auto-rickshaw, and we ped her off at Fr. Muller's hospital, where she was in charge of nursing.

Sr. Gonzaga was my tutor in Fr Muller's school of Nursing, Kankanady, Mangalore. She was always smilling & very kind towards nursing students, specially very kind to me.
