Fr Raymond Menezes (71), former Vicar General of the Bareilly Diocese (Lucknow), son of the late Ignatius Menezes & the late Pauline Menezes, (Halealve, Kundapur), brother of Peter / Carmin (Praveen, Prakash & Prashanth), Halealve, Rosy / the late Victor D’Souza (Premila & Suzy), Premalya- Kemmannu, Monica / James D’Souza (Jeevan, Vinod & Ranjan), Mumbai & the late Fr John Mariadas Menezes, passed away in Bareilly at 2.00 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

Funeral in St Alphonsus Cathedral Church, Bareilly on Friday January 27 at 11.00 am.

Fr Raymond Menezes was born on June 26 1941 in Halealve Piusnagar - Kundapur. He served as priest for 43 years, having been ordained on January 2, 1969.

We are extremely saddened and shocked to hear the sudden demise of our beloved Fr. Raymond.
He was very dear to our heart. We have no words to console the bereaved family. Fr. Raymond made us proud. He walked the straight and narrow path till the very end and was an example to other priests in the extended family. He devoted his whole life to missionary work and in the service of God. God wanted Fr. Raymond near Him more than the people from this world. He has now gone to claim his reward.

Fr. Raymond Menezes was a very energetic priest of the diocese of Lucknow as I knew when in my younger days. He was one of the very active priests and a very good leader. As a senior priest and V.G. of Bareilly diocese( after the division of Lucknow diocese) he has served his people and his diocese as a true follower of Christ.
