Sylvester D’Silva (97), husband of the late Agnes DSilva (nee Fernandes), father of Reuben/Ann (USA), the late Elwin, Kiran (Bangalore), Elaine/the late Mark Furtado (Australia), Arlene/Derrick Hubbard (USA), Rohan/Usha (USA), grandfather of Natasha/Casey, Andrew/Anya, Daniel, Dane, Anya, Jada, great grandfather of Amaya and Eliya, son of the late Sebastian/the late Natalia (nee Moras), brother of the late Pauline Sequeira, the late Mary Noronha, the late Isidore, the late Fr Albert SJ, passed away in Bangalore on August 30, 2024.

Funeral service will be held in St Patrick’s Church, Museum Road, Bangalore on Saturday, September 7. Viewing at 10.30 am. Mass at 11.00 am, followed by burial at St Patrick’s Cemetery, Hosur Road, Bangalore.

Dad's love for us was a constant, even if he did not express it often. He dedicated himself to guiding us, ensuring we grew secure and independent, and instilling in us a strong faith. When I fell short of his expectations, he would sometimes raise his voice after multiple attempts to correct me. Yet, deep down, I always knew he cared for me and for all of us. Just this past February, he walked with us to church, engaging in heartfelt conversations about each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He wanted to ensure that we were thriving and would be secure in our future. While we all have our weaknesses, our lives can be measured by the fruits we bear. Dad would want each of you to understand how deeply he loved and thought of you, a sentiment that sustained him throughout his remarkable 97 years.
