Egidias Rebimbus (88), husband of the late Philomena Rebimbus, father of Edith/Melvin Tauro and Eric/Aneta, grandfather of Rydell, Renzil and Elita, brother of the late Juliana Carvalho, the late Gration Rebimbus, the late Annie Miranda, the late Christine Theodore and the late Wilfy Rebimbus, passed away on July 14, 2023.

Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 15 in St Joseph's Church, New Mill Road, Kurla west, Mumbai at 11.00 am, followed by burial at Holy Cross Church, Kamani, Kurla west, Mumbai.

Sorry to hear the sad demise of Ijju, our neighbor, our cricket friend. Every time we visited India we enquired about Ijju. Sorry to hear that he passed away in Mumbai. Ijju has been a great cricketer. In fact Ijju was the organizer of the United Youngers Group at Jeppoo, and upon his departure to Mumbai several decades ago the United Youngsters was taken over by his younger brother, Wilfy. Thank you, Ijju, for your contribution to the Community.

Dear Ijju .... Egidias was the loving brother of my friend Late Konkani legend Wilfy Rebimbus. He was a caring, soft spoken gentleman with a big heart. He became my friend from the first day we met during the 'Wilfy Nite' in Bombay in the late seventies. I think he was the first graduate from Jeppu Compound, moved to Bombay and worked for well known Glaxo (GlaxoSmith Kline Pharmaceuticals) till retirement. He was a great supporter of Wilfy and his music.’Wilfy mazo dakto bhav…’ he used to proclaim with that proud smile on his face. He attended each and every ‘Wilfy Nite’ in Bombay and also traveled all the way to Mangalore to attend Wilfy’s special landmark ‘Nites’. He was a good friend to me and I am sorry I could not meet him last many many years. I have somewhere a cassette of him talking in length about Wilfy’s early life, family, struggle etc, which I wanted to bring out in a book. Some dreams have remained unfulfilled. I offer my sincere heartfelt condolences to Edith/Melvin, Eric/Aneta and all family members. Dear Ijju, may God rest your soul in eternal peace and give courage to your loved ones to bear this great loss.
