Dr Anand David Saldanha (69), son of the late Dr Gracian Saldanha and the late Dr Lucy Saldanha, husband of Sela Maria Saldanha, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Mortal remains will be brought to Our Lady of Miracles Church, Milagres, Mangalore on Thursday, November 4, for public viewing from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Mass at 4:00 pm followed by burial at the Milagres Church cemetery.

Our Deepest Sympathies to Sela and the rest of his near and dear ones. Hearing the passing away of Anand shocked us as memories of a fortnight back meeting him flashed back. He spoke of his poor heath condition and our hearts went out to him. We eight children and our 2 children were brought into this world by the efficient hands of his gentle mother Aunty Lucy and Uncle Gratian our family dentist too. Her Nursing home was home to many in Mangalore. May Anand be welcomed into paradise where his parents await him, and God reward him for the noble works of a doctor. May his Soul Rest in Peace.

Hi Sela, Please accept our deepest sympathies on the passing of your dear husband Anand. I was so fortunate to meet you both when I dropped in at your place in Dec 2019. We talked about our childhood when we got together so many many times as we were family friends. Dr. Lucy brought me in to this world & my son too. 8 of my siblings were delivered by her. Only the last one was not as Dr. Lucy had gone to B'bay. D.r Gratian was a great dentist too. He was our dentist too. Anand inherited his parents kindness & their mild manner. We pray that God gives you strength to carry on without him. I know that you are a strong woman & will do it. What a blessing to pass away on All Soul's day. May His Soul Rest in Peace.

May the Good Lord bless Dr. Anand's soul n receive him into the ever lasting light. As a medical person he would have given service to society in a good measure. His parents were well known. Dr. Lucy was instrumental in bringing many of us in the 50s 60s. Dr.Gratian was one of the first dentists of the city.. May they all RIP..
