Gilbert Lobo (Mumbai) (85), husband of late Marjorie Lobo (Pereira), passed away in Mangalore on Sunday, September 12, 2021

Gilbert lived in Mumbai most of his life. He worked with the Indian Ferro Alloy Producers’ Association, Maharashtra Elektrosmelt and Ferro Alloys Corporation. After his retirement in 1994, he worked for Metal Bulletin, London as their Indian Correspondent till 2007.

He is survived by his 3 children Loy and Vrinda,Linus and Pallavi,Angela and Sangraam Marathe, and 7 grand children Isha, Maya, Raul, Nivaan, Jaden, Nirvan and Armaan.

Viewing at Ave Maria Palliative Care Vamanjoor, Mangalore from 2.30 pm and cremation at Boloor crematorium at 4 PM on Sunday, September 12, 2021

I am saddened and upset to hear of the news regarding the passing of the charismatic Gilbert Lobo. Gilbert was a colleague for many years in his role as a world class special correspondent for India covering the metals and mining markets for Metal Bulletin (now Fastmarkets).
