Albert Rasquinha (95), husband of Celine Rasquinha nee Lobo, father of Margaret / Denzyl D’Souza, David / Sujata and Peter / Sandra, grandfather of Namita / Dennis Davar, Nishita, Nikita and Shreya, great grandfather of Natalia and Dwayne, brother of Fr. Denis Rasquinha SJ, passed away on June 12, 2021.

Funeral rites took place on Sunday, June 13.

Dear Celine Maushi, Margaret, David and Peter Sorry to hear about the sad demise of our dear Bappu. Although he was my Dad's Bappu, we too lovingly called him Bappu always. I still remember the days as a child when my Dad would ask who is coming with me to Bappu's house? I would always raise my hand as I looked forward to meeting him because I would get to learn something new from him as he was a wise and intelligent man. He always had words of wisdom for us. I admired him as he was a very systematic and sincere person. I will always cherish those lovely childhood memories of the time I spent with our dear Bappu. May God grant him eternal rest and may the Lord give strength and solace to his family to bear this loss.

Dear Uncle, I cannot believe that you are not here anymore, I really wanted you to live some more years. For the last 18 years, I have seen you saying good morning to me almost every day at the church entrance. I am going to miss those moments spent talking to you on small big things. Miss you seeing you kneeling on 4th row pews every morning at 5:45AM. Miss your reminders about Birthdays wedding anniversary of our parishioners, priests and acquaintances. Miss your cookies, cakes, pastries and goodies. Miss your phone calls. Miss your presence near the corner of Meera School we used to meet when I am on my way to office. I miss those moments you cracked jokes. Those special memories of you will always I cherish. You always meant so much to me and will always remain in my heart so. You loved me more than I deserve. With deep sadness at the passing away of dear Uncle Albert, it's right to say - May the Good LORD of all, receive his dear soul and present it to the Most High GOD. May HE the almighty give the family members, near and dear, great consolation and solace. The light has not gone out - the dawn has come for him; all humans will be blessed so one day with a new dawn...... Our family, especially my dear parents, always expressed a special regard for Uncle Albert & Aunty Celine, which arose from the time we connected in Royapuram, Madras in the mid 1960s and never lost touch since then. Uncle Albert was a highly principled and religious person who was valued in all circles as we know. Pleasant, jovial focused and sincere, i always recall his interest in chatting with me whenever we met, I was starting my work life and few people would really venture to talk with me as it needed a lot of patience, some of you know why and that was a quality Uncle Albert possessed in abundance and I never forget it. God bless his dear memory and affection for those who needed it. Thank you Uncle.

Sad to read that another of my school days buddy has passed away. My condolences to his wife and to his younger brother who was my classmate (SSLC 1947 batch) Denis - Rev. Denis SJ . I remember the days when Albert and Denis went by our house in Kankanady Pumpwell on their way to school and my late brother and I joined them on a regular basis when we spotted them passing by. I also had several occasions to meet him when he was in Bombay and working at Reserve Bank of India. RIP Albert.
