Maurice Menezes (82), husband of the late Cicilia Menezes, father of Wilma Menezes/Ronald (Mumbai) and Wilfred Menezes, grandfather of Roshel and Rinol, passed away on Tuesday, June 16,2020.

Funeral cortege leaves residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, for St Joseph's Church Bajpe, at 3.30 pm and followed by final rites and burial at Church Cemetery at 4:00 pm.

Sir was my inspiration. It was his piano playing which mesmerized me. It was in 1982 when a miracle occurred. Sir was playing Edelweiss on the piano. I was moved to tears when the song was being sung. That single incident changed the direction of my life. Even today I play many hymns I learnt at the school. One morning I was playing a bengali song on the piano. Sir came running and he requested me to enroll for the annual Talent Contest. I also formed my own cultural group consisting of Mrs Roychowdhury, Joydeep Ghosh , Prasanta Choudhury & I was the pianist. Really Sir has changed the world for me. I am in LIC and I am frequently called to perform at cultural functions. Really, Sir has changed my life. I also wrote poems which were read out by Sir. Hats off to you Sir. May you rest in peace.
